UV TANNING- SUN CAPSULE VERTICAL TANNING SUNBED UNITS

  • At Get Brown we follow the Australasian guidelines for the correct administration of UV light operated sunbed tanning equipment.
  • We have Sun Capsule stand-up sunbed tanners for fast, effective, hygienic and all-over even tanning (no liedown sunbeds). Our units have a maximum tanning time of 11 minutes.
  • Your first session here is a CONSULTATION. This is an initial orientation & personalised consultation, which you should allow from 30 minutes to an hour for. We give you a good deal of specific tanning information, review all of your tanning interests and concerns, set a tanning schedule for you, recommend the best products for you to use to enhance your results, discuss the latest science and research about the topic of sunlight and tanning with you, and help you to work out the best tanning options for your circumstance, timeframe and budget to achieve your tanning goals efficiently. There is a one-off charge for your consultation of $20.
  • Once we know your skin type we can make an assessment of how many sessions you will need to reach a base tan level, and/or how much tanning you need to get to your tanning goal, as well as what you can do to maintain your tan.
  • We have many different session prices and packages to suit you depending on your tanning requirements. Click here for a full list of current prices.
  • You should always use tanning accelerator lotions to get the most out of your tanning sessions and protect your skin. We’ll explain exactly why this is and how they work in your consultation. Factor this cost into your tanning budget too- there is a huge range available in our unique dedicated Tanning Store from full-size bottles to sachet-sized packettes for one-time use to suit every budget. We offer FREE lotion storage and complimentary personal eyewear for use while tanning with us.   • Hygienic and disposable WINK-EASE and VIEW-KEEPERS one time use eye cones, along with a full range of tanning accessories are also available for purchase.

Whether you are tanning to get brown as quickly and effectively as possible, to prepare your skin to reduce sunburn, to moderate skin issues, or just to warm up and feel good with a burst of indoor sunshine, our priority is looking after you the best we can, always following our industry-leading high professional standards. SPRAY-TANNING- AUTOBRONZER AUTOMATED SPRAY-TAN UNIT

We have a fantastic automated spraytanning unit at Get Brown Tanning called the California Tan Sunless AutoBronzer Tanning Towers. We have compiled some answers to the most frequently asked questions about spraytanning at Get Brown which are listed below.

How Does It Work?
The California Tan AutoBronzer works with state-of-the-art electro-static technology. You're NOT just being hosed down! You are 'earthed' on metal footplates, while the spraytan solution is 'polarized'- or positively charged- at each nozzle. The solution particles are the smallest in the world! They spraytan towards your body in a conical shape, wrapping around every inch of skin evenly.

Will It Go Streaky?
No, as long as you prepare your skin properly and follow the instructions, the spraytan will develop evenly.

Will I Look Orange?
No, the California Tan sunless solution is a lovely, golden, natural-looking colour which works with your own skin tone. Orange fake tan disasters happen when the spraytan solution is too heavy for your skin type, but the California Tan AutoBronzer has 3 different levels of tan so your consultant will help you to choose the perfect level for your skin type.

How Much Does It Cost?
Just $49. Disposable hair cap & barrier cream are included free with each spray. Exfoliating primer towelette $6 and nose filter $2.50 are available to purchase. Eyewear options are also available from $1, and lip protection from $8. Subsequent spraytans (within 3 weeks of the previous spraytan) are discounted to $39, or our repeat anytime rate is $45. How Long Does it Last?
Somewhere between 5 to 10 days; this depends on your skin type, and on the pre-tan condition of your skin. The colour develops in your surface skin cells which naturally slough away, so good preparation is a must (see below). Using after-tan moisturizer/extenders daily to maintain the colour longer, and minimize patchiness as the tan fades is well-advised. We recommend California Tan Sunless Extender Tinted Moisturiser $35. Do NOT exfoliate AFTER the spraytan unless you want to remove it completely.

Should I Exfoliate Beforehand?
If your skin DOES NOT tend to be dry*, and/or if you exfoliate** less than once a month, then exfoliating before your spraytan will give a better result. If you generally exfoliate more often than once a month, and/or if your skin is dry as a rule, then laying off the exfoliation and moisturising instead for a few days before your spraytan is the best thing for you to do.

* If you drawing a fingernail across your skin leaves a whitish line that doesn't disappear immediately or leaves small flakes on your skin, then your skin is dry to extremely dry.
** Exfoliating means using a body wash with 'exfoliating' ingredients and/or a body loofah, scrub or mitt. Skin does NOT need to be exfoliated every day; once a week or fortnight is plenty.

Will Anyone Be In The Room With Me?
No- the AutoBronzer is in a private room. No operator is present at any time while the spraytan takes place. The tanning towers spray you with solution in a matter of seconds (you only need to turn around once, and no funny poses necessary!) and dry you off in complete privacy. An automated voice guides you through the process.

How Long Does it Take?
Your first spraytan appointment will take 15 to 20 minutes... we show you a quick video so you know how the unit works and what will happen during the spraytan, and decide on the right level of tan for you. We also make sure to answer all your questions and leave you feeling confident about the process before you begin.

What's In The Solution?
The spraytan contains a DHA self-tanner ingredient which develops on your skin in 6-8 hours. The solution also contains vitamin E, aloe vera and lutein for great skin conditioning benefits and anti-aging properties. A third ingredient, erythrulose, continues to develop on your skin for 5-7 days after your spraytan session. For best spraytan results you should wait as long as possible before showering, with the bare minimum being 8 hours.

What Do I Need to Bring?
Most people choose to spraytan with no clothes on but if you prefer to wear underwear or a bathing suit then please bring these with you. We recommend you dress in loose clothing after your spraytan. You should also bring an umbrella or raincoat to cover up completely afterwards if it looks like it may rain on the day of your spraytan.

When Can I Shower Afterwards?
We recommend waiting as long as possible for best results. The bare minimum recommendation is 8 hours, but preferably you would not shower after your spraytan for 12-24 hours. For best results- you should not swim, exercise or do anything to make you sweat excessively after having a spraytan.

To Book? Or Not To Book?

At Get Brown we love to be able to offer a choice of appointment and walk-in sessions to our happy tanners. We also know that it can be difficult to know when the best times to book or walk in are.
With this in mind our recommendations are:
  • Walk-in sessions are fine between 10am and 4pm every weekday.
  • From 4pm till close on weekdays we strongly recommend that you book first.
  • It is advisable to book Saturday sessions, although if you would like to walk in then the best time is between 11am and 1pm.
  • If you are a real planner and would like us to help you schedule your tanning appointments we are very happy to help, and we can even send you appointment reminders by email or text.
  • If you are more of a 'fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants' person, you are very welcome to call in to Get Brown any time and see if we can accomodate you, and in most cases we can with a minimum wait.

  • First, Choose your Reminder Frequency (7, 14 or 21 days after your previous visit)
  • Then, Choose your Reminder Method (text or email)
  • Your reminders will continue unless a) you don't need them, or b) you cancel them.

Get Brown SERVICE POLICIES

At Get Brown we provide tanners excellent Sun Capsule sunbed and spraytan deals with great flexibility. The following are our tanning service rules. If you have a further query please don't hesitate to contact us.
  • Bookings for sunbeds or spraytans are not essential but they are always preferable.
  • We take bookings for all sunbed or spraytans sessions, however please note guaranteed bookings only apply to prepaid sessions.
  • Cancellations & changes to sunbed or spraytan bookings should be made by phone, email or answerphone message two hours prior to your appointment time. Otherwise the prepaid sunbed or spraytan session may be deducted from your sunbed or spraytan concession or package.
  • Get Brown operates a strict 'only every other day' UV tanning policy, in accordance with our industry guideline. Please do not be offended when you are refused access to sunbed services the day after a previous session. (Tanning every other day is also better for your tanning results than tanning every day.)
  • Get Brown has an age limit for access to sunbed tanning services of 18 years or older, in accordance with our industry guideline. We make exception to this limit for any person under the age of 18 who has been recommended to use our services by a medical professional, and who has parental approval.
  • If you are more than four minutes late or do not arrive for your Sun Capsule sunbed appointment without notifying us, Get Brown may deduct this session from your sunbed Sun Capsule concession or package.
  • Unless otherwise specified, all Sun Capsule sunbed and spraytan sessions purchased from Get Brown Tanning expire 24 months after date of first use.
  • We offer tanning lotion storage free with your purchase of a full-size bottle of tanning lotion from the Get Brown range. While we assume full responsibility for your property when it is in our care, please note we reserve the right to dispose of tanning lotions beyond their date of expiry* unless you have otherwise instructed us. (*Date of expiry means the lapse of time past the initial opening of the bottle as indicated by the standard expiry icon printed on the bottle, and is usually 12-24 months.)
  • AutoBronzer spraytans: unless otherwise stated, your first spraytan costs $49. After the initial spraytan session, clients are welcome to take advantage of Get Brown's reduced spraytan rates & packages.
  • Unless otherwise stated, prepaid Sun Capsule sunbed sessions and spraytan sessions are for an individual only and may not be shared with others.
  • Prepaid Sun Capsule sunbed sessions and spraytan sessions are not transferable for cash, products or other services.
  • Prepaid Sun Capsule sunbed sessions and spraytan sessions are not refundable. In special cases (such as if you are moving out of the area or if you have a genuine reason for being unable to use up remaining sunbed or spraytan sessions) Get Brown may allow you to gift prepaid sunbed or spraytan sessions to another person, but please note in this case the other person (if not already a Get Brown tanner) will be subject to the same requirements as all new Get Brown tanners, i.e Sun Capsule sunbed tanners will need to have an initial chargeable consultation, and spraytanners will need to purchase a $49 spraytan session prior to using up the prepaid sessions.
